How can I make it so this program won't start until I double click the icon?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Patrice,

Please try this and let me know if it solves your problem:

Go to Run. Type in msconfig. Click OK. A screen called System
Configuration Utility will pop up. Click on the "Startup" tab. You
will see a list of programs in the window. Find the program that is
starting up and remove the check box. That will keep that program from
starting up every time you start up your computer.

Looking forward to your clarification.

Best regards,
Rainbow

Rainbow,
I did this and it did work. There were 23 other programs on the auto
start list, and I disabled all of them. The machine seems to work fine
without starting all these programs running. Here's a list of them,
which are all disabled now (checkmark removed on the Startup list).

DirectCD
Apoint
BasicsTray
ccApp
quickset
DSentry
KHALMNPR
Logi_MwX
msmsgs
NvCpl
nwiz
SprintPortA
UsrPrmpt
jusched
SNDMon
realsched
ypager
Adobe Reader Speed Launch
Logitech SsetPoint
Microsoft Office
SnagIt 7
WinZip Quick Pick
Wireless-G Notebook Adapter Utility
Wireless Connection Manager Update

The one I origionally wanted to disable is snagit. Is there any known
benifit to leaving any of the others on the startup list?

Thanks,
Patrice

Hi Patrice,

I'm glad the procedure I provided worked. Regarding the programs
listed, take a look here:

http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

Use the Search facility for the various programs. You will get an
explanation of each application and whether or not it is required at
start up.

Please let me know if this suffices as an answer to your question.

Best regards,
Rainbow
