Hello. I'm currently seeking to do just that: buy notebook computers parts, assemble them as a full notebook computer and sell them. I'd like that the researches at Google Answers find me phone numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses of notebook parts manufacturers and supplies. I have had little luck in finding suppliers and manufacturers. Ideally, I'd like to have a spreadsheet showing the approximate cost of each part: Hard disks, Memory modules, Motherboards, Processors, Displays, Plastic cases, keyboards, touchpads and whatever is available. My objective is to open a notebook assembling plant on my own, so I can distribute notebooks with my own brand. The brazilian government (where I am located now) offers significant discounts for companies who buy parts and assemble them here in Brazil. There's no need to find suppliers near me. I will have no problems in getting these parts even from far countries. |

Would a barebone kit be suitable for your needs? It consists of the plastic case, display, battery, motherboard and keyboard; you have to add the CPU, memory, hard drive and the optical drive. As far as I know, building the notebook from the barebone kit counts as if you manufactured it. We buy Aopen barebone kits ourselves; currently they cost starting from about 490 USD, however, there have been cheaper models previously. Our supplier is Elko (www.elkogroup.com) - they operate in Eastern Europe. We also buy the CPUs, memory, hard drives and optical drives mainly from Elko; though we buy some from other suppliers, too. If this is relevant to you in any way and you would like more information about this, just ask and I will try to find out what I can. |

Yes, it might be suitable. Is it possible to add our own brand to the computer? This is important. |
