Netscape communicator 7.1, Windows Pro 2000
Also, trying to find several folders within inbox, which are missing.
Have back-ups of both. Address book on cd; inbox on cd winzip.
Paid InfoSpan and escalated to supervisor; they seem to have little experience.
Will pay for telephone support if that is acceptable. Thank you.

What exactly are you hoping to do? Do you want to restore the address
book and inbox? Do you need an explanation of how your data might have
been corrupted?

Thank you for asking for more details. Yes, I want to restore the
address book and recover the specific folders within the inbox. Do I
want to know how the corruption came about? Probably not, unless that
is useful to solving this situation. (Once I gain stability in this
email client, I will probably move to another email client since
support for Communicator has been hard for me to find over the nearly
ten years I've stuck with it.)

There are two issues, which arose at the same time: 1. Corrupt
address book; 2. A couple of folders within the inbox are missing.

1. Address book: No data in address book so ...

a. copied address book on desktop
b. created new profile, copied address book from desktop to new profile.
c. as opening new profile, received error message about corrupt
address book and *.bak created.
d. found address book on cd, which had been backed up 10/3/05 (and
might be corrupt). Got same error message with old and new profile.
e. found another back up of address book from April and got same
error message with both profiles.

InfoSpan, the Netscape third party support ($19.95) worked on this,
which resulted in their saying that the address book and other data
was corrupt. When I told them that I had had the same situation with
the address book a year ago, and copied it into notepad to correct it,
even the supervisor was stuck. I told them about instructions, such
as http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/ns7manualAB.html. (I guess they
only work on simple situations.)

I could try to work from such instructions, but am willing to pay to
have someone with significant experience walk me through it.

2. Missing inbox sub-folders: Many folders appear within the inbox,
but not two, where most of my most recently received emails were moved
to in case the inbox.sbd became corrupt.

Btw, I have a lot of email. More than 2 gb.

Thank you, Jim
