Question ID: 587439
I live in Switzerland (Europe). I bought a Router wireless Netgear
WGT634U (802.11b/G+108Mbps). I didn't use the 108Mbps feature. I'm
satisfied with it, but the wireless signal isn't strength enough to
reach all my rooms in my apartment. I tried to apply many tips
(channel change, antenna, etc.), I received from the Netgear
support center, but they didn't work. Now, I want TO BUY ANOTHER
ACCESS POINT REPEATER. The problem is that the Netgear support told me
that I have to buy 2 (TWO!) access point: one linked to my current
Router wireless (why?!?) and the second functioning as a repeater.
They were not able to let me know why I need an AP linked to my current Access
Point!
Then I asked to Linksys for their 'WRE54G v2.0' Repeater: they
answered me this range expander could or couldn't work with my
WGT634U.
QUESTION: is there a repeater on the market I can buy (I'm looking
also for others brands, eg. Linksys, etc), which I could be sure, when
I'll buy, it will functioning with my WGT634U? Which probability do I
have that the Linksys WRE54G v2.0 will functioning with my current
access point?

Your router does not support the WDS protocol - this is required for repeating.
