Powell's Books has a multitude of used Dr. Seuss books, and you only pay one shipping charge, since Powell's isn't brokering sales for others, but has its own stock of new and used books. However, Dr. Seuss books, even when they are used, are not generally cheap. I doubt very much that you will find any online merchant whose Dr. Seuss books will average under $3.00. For several years I worked in a used book store. Used Dr. Seuss books were very much in demand, and the supply was not extensive, since many people kept their books even after their children grew up. Large demand + small supply usually means a high price. In case you want to look at Powell's, here is a link: http://www.powells.com/s?kw=dr+seuss |

half.ebay.com has lots of Dr. Seuss books at their minimum price of 75 cents. Shipping is $3.25 for a hardback, $1.99 for each additional book from the same seller. Like Alibris, they don't make it easy to find sellers who have a lot of the books you want. So that would be $4.00 at worst, $2.74 if you can find a seller with multiple books you want. And of course, the 75-cent books may not be in the best condition. But there are a lot of titles that are cheap. A search for "Seuss" got 469 results and when sorted by price only exceeded $1.00 on page 5, with 20 titles per page. http://search.half.ebay.com/Seuss_W0QQsortZ88QQsoZ1QQmZbooks |

Why not buy them from ebay? There are many sellers who sell Seuss books in lots: For example, this person is selling 11 books for 12 dollars plus 6 dollars shipping, so $18 total. http://cgi.ebay.com/DR-SEUSS-LOT-OF-11-CHILDRENS-BOOKS_W0QQitemZ8011345618QQcategoryZ279QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This is 15 Seuss books for $1 + $7 shipping http://cgi.ebay.com/15-Dr-Seuss-Book-Lot-Old-New-Green-Eggs-ABC-Cat-in-Hat_W0QQitemZ8012564513QQcategoryZ279QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |
