I am wondering about the definition of "African American Culture," especially when
loyalty to it, for African Americans, is referenced as the alternative
to "assimilation" to the American mainstream. I'm curious about how
much has been retained as a group culturally since slavery and what
aspects could be considered specific to "African Americans."
