Are you looking for a certain single event that happened in South
Dakota in 1976, or an overview of events? If the latter, approximately
how long a list do you require?

I am trying to help my sister with a High School project in US
History. She drew South Dakota, 1976 and she has to create a poster of
what happened, we assumed some major historical event happened there
(at first we though wounded knee, only to learn that event occured in
1973) Oh, and we also found the thing about the sodomy law, but
seriously would that be a history project in high school? :) Alas, I
turn to you, the professional for help.

Hi,

I'm curious about one thing. Are you interested in 1976 or 1776? In
1976 all the states had events happening because of the 200th year
anniversary... especially on July 4th, 1976.

Thanks,

tlspiegel-ga

Nope it isn't 1776. My sister will be asking her teacher today if he
is correct about the date, or if it is a typo....I will let you know
if the year changes. (Bicentennial isn't what we're looking for)

I would guess it's a typo. Are they studying a particular time
period? Is this an Advanced Honors course where they would be
studying obscure topics?
