As a former resident of south Florida, I'll be glad to address your
questions about the Everglades, but there are many different
candidates for "biggest swamp in the world," depending upon how you
define swampland, and how you draw the boundaries of a swamp. I can
gather material on the various swamps that are most commonly said to
be the largest. Please let me know if that would be fully
satisfactory.

The biggest swamp in the world is in the
middle of Africa. It?s called the Likawala Swamp. It?s 55,000 square
miles. That?s about
the same size as the entire state of Illinois. This is a gigantic
swamp. This swamp is 80
percent unexplored today. There have been numerous explorations into
parts of the swamp
but about 80 percent of it today remains unexplored.
