I would like to know which websites are most commonly used to find
shared accommodation in London, UK. Note, I am not looking for
websites that specifically detail whole houses / apartments for rent
but am looking for shared houses / apartments. A good answer for me
would be for example, ten of the most widely used websites (maybe
check internet traffic as an indicator?) to find shared accommodation
in London, UK (most of these websites probably wont be limited to

similar ones which are as widely used if not more.

There is no answer at this time.

? was created in 1999 and was inspired by the creator's
struggle to find accommodation when first moving to London. At the
time the only real way of finding out about flats and rooms to rent
was to consult the local press, which would tend to be totally
unintuitive, only giving postcodes (meaningless to the newcomer) for
locations. intoLondon solved that problem by introducing area guides
and interactive maps. intoLondon is a small independant business and
is still free to use after 4 years.?

?At the end of 2002, intoLondon introduced a few 'premium' services -
a paid subscription to access the details of the very newest adverts
and the option of a bold advert over the usual free 'plain' advert.
intoLondon's success has been largely down to word of mouth and
continues to grow month by month, giving room seekers an even wider
range of properties. We offer the premium access to those who wish to
pay for that extra service, but the core of our service is still free,
as it should be.?

Thanks for the comment - altough all but two of the websites mentioned
in your comments are affiliated to - ie when you place
an advert on it will automatically list on other
websites. Ideally i need the most popular websites (i don't think that is one of the most popular for London. Search tip -
look at traffic accross each website. This information will be quite
valuable to me and i am willing to relfect this via tip - but it will
need a carefully researched answer, a quick search on google wont
