In iTunes, I want to set each song's "composer" to be equal to its "artist". Is there any easy way of doing this? (If it's hard, I'm willing to raise my price if you'll walk me through it. Let me know...) I have all my ipod music in mp3 format, so it may be possible to solve this problem outside itunes, by messing with the mp3 files through windows. I'm using windows xp and a third generation 40GB ipod with a click wheel. |

you can use any mp3 id3 tag editor software for this, i recommend "mp3 tag studio" (freeware at http://www.magnusbrading.com.mp3ts/) to do this kind of job. it has very flexible batch command to do the tagging, |

Hey daveardian-ga! What you are trying to acheive is very simple. All of the information, including Composer, Artist, Date, Song Name, Album Title...etc, is included in these ID3 tags. There is a HUGE amount of programs at: http://www.team-mp3.com/mp3/id3_editor_links.htm that will let you edit, then save the mp3's new ID3 tag. After that you can re-import the song into iTunes. If you're not willing to go through so much trouble, there is an alternative. At this website: http://www.dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts09.php?page=2 there is LOTS of scripts that will help you acheive what you are looking for. I wish you the best of luck, just try not to become as picky as I am about my ID3 tags! It's addicting! I rest assured that you will not need anyone to walk you through something like this. If you do, just post back and I will be glad to help. teknikalwarfare-ga |

Why do people make things so hard? You can do all of this right in the itunes application. just right click on your song, click "get info" then click again on the info tab. here you can edit your song without having to re-import it. this method will save you much more time. |

When you have 5,000 songs by 900 different artists, manually setting each one in itunes is a bit of a drag, but mp3s edits work... |
