I am trying to identify the movie that this still image comes from. I bought this 8 x 10 image in Havana, Cuba in 2000. It has the numbers 1746 - 96 (could be 1946 - 96?). Please look at the image here: http://www.adadhannah.com/temp/Cuba_Still.jpg I am looking for the name and as much information (actors, year of production etc) as you can find on this movie, but most importantly are its name (in English as well as original language if other than English) and the country of origin. If you need a higher-resolution image let me know. Previous work towards an answer can be found here: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=529561 Thanks. Adad |

Last time round everyone seemed to assume this was a still from a Hollywood (or at least English language) movie - why? The character in the front looks much more like a European (eg French or Spanish), and of course since you found the photo in Cuba the movie (if there is one) could be Latin American. I have to say that as a whole the photo is something of a mess, with little or no connection between the different figures, and is rather hard to "read". (What is that strange black object bouncing around on the blonde's chest?) Indeed, are you sure it is a movie still; and isn't some sort of montage? Sorry to be so negative. |

Hi Geof-ga, I don't think you are being negative. I have looked at it carefully, and while I think it is a montage in the sense that it is posing and putting together characters that do not seem to connect, I don't think that it has been manipulated at all in the darkroom. As for the Hollywood/Europe problem, someone recently suggested to me that it was an American movie made to look like a European film, hence the beret and the striped shirt. I think that the item on the blonde's chest is a feather boa, or some other puffy neck-wrap, but I don't know for sure. |
