Dear moosehead5032,
Although it seems that Election Systems & Software are quite
close-mouthed when it comes to who their actual owners are, to say the
least, it is not a secret anymore. The Washington, D.C. newspaper "The
Hill" revealed the following:
"ES&S is a subsidiary of McCarthy Group Inc., which is jointly held by
the holding firm and the Omaha World-Herald Co., which publishes the
state?s largest newspaper."
Extensive Web research showed that there are no indications whatsover
that this information is incorrect, neither has it been denied by the
companies involved. ES&S is even listed among McCarthy Group's
investments on their website. Reliable more exact information,
however, is not available anywhere.
As for the McCarthy Group and Omaha World-Herald, here is contact information:

Dear moosehead5032,
This analysis of the complex and rather obscure ownership structure
behind Election Systems & Software, researched and published by
journalist Lynn Landes, is the most detailed data I could find
anywhere:
http://www.ecotalk.org/VotingMachineCompanies.htm#ES&S
Everything else concerning ownership of ES&S is indeed a well-kept
secret. For reasons one can only speculate on, the responsible
individuals don't want the public to know who are the influential
powers behind the vote-counting company.
Despite extensive research, that is all I could find out. Should the
answer be insufficient, please accept my apologies. In that case, you
are of course entitled to request a full refund using this form:
