I have an excel file that includes all contact information within a single cell where address, phone, etc are separated by an unusual delimiter (a square). Here's an example: "BLANK LLC Phone: 366-564-0000 Addr: 18 SE Tech Center Pl #150 Vancouver WA 96883" All of this is listed in a single cell. I need it to be in separate fields: contact, phone, address, city, state, zip. To make matters worse, not all of the cells are uniform. Some come like this: "Madeup Homes Inc Contact: Thomas Madeup Phone: 503-655-3783 Addr: P.O. Box 1109 Clackamas OR 97115" Does anybody have a macro that would deal with this? The square symbols don't show up when I copied the data into this textbox. Also, I can email a sample spreadsheet to any takers. thanks! mark |

I think the squares you're seeing are hard returns. If you uncheck the wrap text option in the cell properties do they go away? Also, are the city, state, and postal code delimited by the squares as well? |

Yeah, they act like hard returns but the wrap text box in unchecked. I also pasted the data in as "values Only" leaving off the format. No, city, state, and zip are not separated by the square. thx, mark |

can you post your spreadsheet somewhere where I can take a look at it? I think I can write a clean-up macro for you. |
