I believe you're remembering a made-for-TV film called "If These Walls
Could Talk." The movie tells the stories of three women in different
eras who make difficult decisions regarding abortion. In the portion
of the movie that is set in 1952, Demi Moore plays a recently widowed
nurse who becomes pregnant by her brother-in-law. She undergoes a
brutal, illegal kitchen-table abortion.

"The most riveting and heartbreaking of the three stories featured
Demi Moore as a young widow who must make the hardest decision in her
life-- to risk not only her career and reputation but the relationship
of her in-laws who have taken her in as one of their own by carrying
to term the baby of her dead husband's brother, or to risk her life by
choosing what was once a barbaric and incredibly dangerous procedure
due to the illegality of abortion."

"If These Walls Could Talk [DVD] (1996)
Three different stories of women faced with unwanted pregnancies are
the focus of this powerful film. In 1952, Demi Moore is a recently
widowed nurse impregnated by her brother-in-law. Sissy Spacek is the
mother of four who discovers a baby is on the way after she returns to
college in 1974. And in 1996, Anne Heche, pregnant from an affair with
a married man, must choose whether to have the child or not. With Cher
(who also directed the final segment)."

"A young widow, played by Demi Moore, has sexual intercourse with her
younger brother-in-law while under the influence of grief and alcohol.
She conceives as a result. Her in-laws are her only family and
financial support. She cannot scandalize them by having the child. The
vignette ends with her in a pool of her own blood after a
kitchen-table abortion, phoning for help."
