Internet Advertising (Pay-per-click: PPC, pay-per-acquisition: PPA,
CPM - cost per thousand views) is a growing industry accounting for
about 2-3% of total advertising dollars.

Google and Yahoo/Overture are the largest recipients of Internet
advertising PPC dollars.

I am trying to determine:

1) The companies who spend the most amount of money on internet
advertising on an annual basis. (I believe the largest internet
advertiser is ebay. Even if they are not, I need the following
information about ebay)

2) How much money the top firms (including ebay) spend on an annual
basis on internet advertising (especially PPC expenditures with Google
and Overture)

3) Approximately how much those firms spend on an average:
- Cost per thousand visitors (CPM) basis
- if possible - CPC basis

Hi chicagoresearch-ga, I'm not sure that a definitive answer to your
question exists, since Google runs a closed auction model and doesn't
reveal it's price-per-click values as Yahoo does. I have found the
top internet advertisers (which interestingly doesn't include eBay in
the top 5), as well as some information on the overall internet
advertising budget of eBay, but nothing on the price-per-click.

Let me know if this information would suffice as an answer.

1) Which companies spend the most amount on internet advertising

2) Approximately how much do they pay both by total annual amount and,
one of the following:
a) per click (approximately)
b) per impression
c) per sale

Hi again,

I've been able to track down the top internet advertisers, but no
solid information on the specific point-per-click prices paid by any
of these companies. I suggest splitting this question into two parts,
in case some other researcher has more luck.
