I am trying to figure out if there is a way to WIRELESSLY play any
video file on BOTH an IBM T23 laptop (w/s-video port and wifi) and a
television AT THE SAME TIME, in the simplest manner (preferably with a
remote) and at the highest quality possible (I have a Toshiba 27A50
27-inch analog TV that has composite, s-video and component video
slots. I don't need HD quality, but the higher quality, the better).
i want this to be the same video file at the same time, not different
files.

I have found a few partial solutions to this ideal setup, but I'm not
sure if any of them do the trick:

PARTIAL SOLUTION 1:
Buffalo and I-O Link make wireless media player/DVD players (the
LinkTheater and Link Player 2) that play pretty much any video file on
a TV, wirelessly. More companies (Netgear DAVE700, etc.) will be
coming out with similar products (other companies' existing similar
products only play a few types of video files). However, I don't
think these players will play video on the host computer and the TV AT
THE SAME TIME. If I am wrong about this, then these players may be a
perfect solution, since I also don't happen to have a DVD player yet.
Also, Buffalo just announced a non-DVD player version called the
linktheater mini.

PARTIAL SOLUTION 2:
Happuage makes a device called the MediaMVP. It plays MPEG-1, MPEG-2,
and DivX movies from your computer on your TV over an ETHERNET
connection. Again, I'm not sure if this product will do this
simultaneously, and it probably won't play other types of video files.
It is also not wireless.

PARTIAL SOLUTION 3:
This website:
http://ruel.net/pc/tv.tuner.converter.htm
mentions a few wired solutions, as well as the grandtec ultimate
wireless PC to TV system. This grandtec product seems like it might
solve my problem, but it is old and does not use component video.

PARTIAL SOLUTION 4:
X10 Lola Wireless TV Video Music System
this is also an old product, it does not use component, and it
reportedly does not work very well. However, I think it theoretically
does what I want to do.

PARIAL SOLUTION 5:
MyVideo/5.8 Wireless Sender and Receiver
http://mytvstore.com/product_id_038.html?ovchn=GGL&ovcpn=MyTV-Store&ovcrn=sr2my3go1883go340pi2ai18+tv+wireless&ovtac=PPC

This seems like it okay solution, though it only uses composite
inputs for the computer. I do have an s video to composite converter
that I would have
to use with my laptop. And it won't interfere with my WiFi if I
purchased the 5.8GHz model.

PARTIAL SOLUTION 6:
Aitech Pro PC/TV Wireless
http://www.aitech.com/site2/products/pctvwireless.htm
this is similar to the myvideo model, but it does not go to 5.8 Ghz.

PARTIAL SOLUTION 7:
stavekirk PC 2 TV Wireless
http://www.stavekirk.co.uk/wireless/wireless-detail.asp?productID=46
this seems like a good solution. It has VGA in from the laptop.

These are possible solutions I've found so far. Please let me know if
you think one of these options is the best solution to watch different
types of video files on my laptop and my television in different rooms
at the same time, or if you know of a better one. ideally i should be
able to control the content with a remote control, at least when i am
using the tv (so i don't have to always use the laptop), though that
is not absolutely necessary. i would prefer not to create a system as
if the tv is just a second monitor for the laptop, with no remote
control or tv interface. and it would be nice if i could do other
things on the tv, like internet radio stations and slideshows.
however, it might be the case that the systems that let you do other
things on the tv don't let you show the same video simultaneusly on
the laptop and the tv, and that is the most important feature i want.
