Has a nice ring, creates a whole new word. Not sure what you mean
about connecting students, but if you look at www.facebook.com, they
created a new word, and that site is all about connecting students,
but it doesn't necessarily mean "students."

What is the website about? Having to do with college/universities is a
pretty broad scope. Is this sport related? Activity related?
Educational?

check out http://www.StuckDomains.com, you would get lot of options,
it is an expired domain search engine (search is free)

Remember the name has to be so simple it is easily remember and easily
able to be typed without any problems with spelling and combination of
words.

Here are three options.

Keep in mind that often the center of campus where students meet is
called the quad:
daquad.com as in "the quad"
mystudentquad.com

Or how about "we are students dot com":
wearestudents.com

This is my favorite because it is easy to say We Are Students dot Com,
all one word. (In addition it spells "wear estudents" and phonetically
is "weary students".)

All three of these domains are currently available.
