I was reluctant to take on this research project because I had a hunch
that some of your questions couldn?t be answered. I decided to give it
a shot when you clarified that you want general information, not
specific numbers. I think I?ve found lots of information that will
help you decide about the franchise opportunity offered by Health
Career Agents.
I first researched the company. Even after extensive digging I was
able to come up with very little. There is nothing negative published
about them but, on the other hand, they haven?t made a name for
themselves in a positive light either. They seem to be a company that
advertises extensively but doesn?t show results by publishing about
their successes in the trade or business press. They don?t seem
exceptional in any way and they?re a small fish in a very big pond.
The medical/healthcare staffing/recruiting industry is huge and there
has been a lot of consolidation going on. You didn?t say whether you
have a background in recruiting or healthcare so I can?t guess how
much research you will have to do to get familiar with the industry.
I?ve collected a lot of resources so that you can compare the HCA
franchise opportunity with other similar ones. I?ve also collected

Franchising is a very particular kind of entrepreneurship so I?ve also

Industry trends in health care staffing
This year the National Association of Physician Recruiters (NAPR)
compiled and published new statistics on physician recruitment
industry trends. Ninety-three search firms completed the survey for a
response rate of 47 percent.
This survey is useful to recruiters and physicians alike. How so?
While recruiters find the information important in determining
up-and-coming trends, physicians gain valuable insights in what
staffing agencies are out there, what specialties are in greater
demand, what types of opportunities they can find with recruiters, as
well as the overall job outlook of the health care industry.
Currently, there are about 769 physician recruitment firms in the
United States and over 1,767 in-house recruiters. Of the 769 firms,
over 300 are members of the NAPR. The current size of the medical
staffing industry is $14 billion and is expected to increase 15-25
percent a year.
