I read a science fiction book about dream apples that I would like to read again. 
There were apples that were basically a drug that put people into very
vivid dreams. But someone was growing "rotten" apples that were
putting people in coma. I think there was also a sentence "my only god
is goth" but I could be wrong.

I believe the book you have in mind is The Continent of Lies by James Morrow.

I agree with my friend and colleague Bobbie7. I have read "The
Continent of Lies," and it is definitely your book. In addition to the
plot details which Bobbie listed, this book does contain the phrase
"My only god is Goth."
