Poster search. I seek a photograph/poster entitled "a Saint Germain
des Pre 1959" by Sergio Larrain, depicting a small roadster with the
numerals "38" on the driver's side and parked at the curb in front of
Deux Magots cafe in Paris. In order to generate a winning answer to
this question, I must have information enabling me to actually
purchase an appropriate size ((12?X18?, or thereabouts) poster
suitable for framing (or already framed) at a cost acceptable to me.
Please see the link below. When my order to the supplier arrives here
the $200.00 fee plus a tip of $150.00 will be awarded, as well as
five stars.

the proper spelling is not "Pre" but "Pres". Even more precisely,
there is an acute accent over the a, thus "à": "à Saint Germain des
Pres 1959"
The link is to an earlier question containing some relevant
information about this poster. The Link therein is to a page in
Chinese and the vendor has not responded to about four emails (in
English.)

Thank you Andreih,

I am aware of this source, and have tried to purchase this poster from
them before (DADAPOSTER). They have not responded to four emails, and
the hidden nature of the offering on ebay makes me leery.
To compound the issue, this morning when your email arrived thaere was
another from a friend just moved to China saying that he had located
and ordered the poster for me.
So I am going to with draw the question, at least temporarily. Many
thanks for your effort.

Finding a print or poster on the Net is pretty easy, if you have the
artist (photographer, in your case) and the title.

The reality is that when these items are marketed by a publisher, they
have to make a decision whether to continually reprint them when the
stock runs out. Without demand, they inevitably go out of print and
become impossible to find.

I strongly suspect that your only hope (probably a slim one) is to
search on the secondary market (like eBay) for a private seller
wanting to unload their copy. As you can imagine, they would only be
likely to do that if they thought they could get a decent price from
it (i.e. artist died and suddenly there's a huge demand). However, I
think there's a strongly likelihood that most people who have ever
purchased this item would think that would be the case.

Never hurts to jump on eBay from time to time, though.

Good luck.
