Hello experts,

I have to write a 800 ? 1,200 word paper describing how the federal
and state systems of government may or may not differ in their
application of employment laws in the US, and I have to provide at least one
example of an employment protection that is provided by the state
system, but not by the federal system.

I just need some help on some links to information that can help me to
write this paper, and also some key ideas that would help me get
going. I also found out that googling "[state name] employment law" would
help in getting some results, but I found them to be too generic.
Finally, the price of the question can be increased depending on the
need.

Is this sort of resource helpful to you:

http://www.ncsl.org/programs/employ/dvvictim.htm
State Unemployment Insurance Laws for Victims of Domestic Violence

Note that there are similar comparison tables for a number of
employment-law issues.

Let me know what you think.

Yes, regarding the comparison between the different states this is
excellant, and please provide me with more similar comparison tables
(if there are such as you said). The only thing that I still need is
more resources reagrding a single issue (so I can tackle it in detail,
and fill the minimum number of words requirement).

One small note is that I am not a US citizen, so understanding some US
terms is taken a lot of time from me, so if you can drop a few words
of explanation regarding the issue that the link is talking about,
this would be really useful. For example, in this link the term
"domestic violence" is a bit new to me (I would be able to find its
meaning after some search on the internet, but it's taking some time
from me to do that).

mohamad83-ga,

This link leads to some key issues regarding state policy in the area
of labor and employment issues:

http://www.ncsl.org/programs/employ/laborissues.htm#disabilities

Each area identified has further links where you can find more information.

We can't effectively decide on an issue for you -- you'll have to do
that yourself, based on what would be most appropriate to your
interests.

After you've chosen, let us know what else you need to make for a
complete answer to your question.

All the best,

paf

I chose the California case in the "State Unemployment Insurance Laws
for Victims of Domestic Violence":
http://www.ncsl.org/programs/employ/dvvictim.htm

I still need you to please:
1- Summarize in two or three paragraphs the corresponding sections in
the UI code (1030,1032,1056) in the link above (they include many
difficult issues and terminologies)
2- Explain (int two+ paragraphs) about the California law reagarding
"Unlawful Discrimination in Employment Laws" :
http://www.ncsl.org/programs/employ/empdisc.htm
3- Provide a link (or more) that describes in general the
federal-state differences/similarities in application of employment
laws (without discussing detailed specific cases)
