Question ID: 591468
I'm looking for an exhaustive list and contact info for companies
(ideally globally, but at least NA, WE) that have a Spray Drying Tower
available for short rentals (1-2 days). Towers must be of at least 500
kg/hr drying capacity and able to run hot air of at least 400 C.
Ideally towers will be equipped with a rotary disk and co-current air
flow.

Just to be sure, please clarify what do the initials "NA, WE" --
(ideally globally, but at least NA, WE) -- stand for? Thanks.

Hi

We figured out you meant North America and Western Europe, but could
you please clarify which specific industrial application the towers
are for? Chemical, pharmaceutical, food/dairy etc.?

Best regards,

NA = North America, WE = Western Europe. Intended use is Chemical,
specifically to make inorganic particles. Thanks!

Hello taquechi-ga:

I'm afraid that searching by specs is turning into a treasure hunt.
Not very many on-target results.

Would you be satisfied with a list of global suppliers who rent spray
dryer towers, either for chemical processes, and/or whose product line
is approximately in line with what you want?

Some suppliers don't give full specs for their full line, so you're
going to have to call them to discuss details, anyway.

If that would be satisfactory, please let me know.

I'm afraid finding matches for your full and exact criteria has proven
fruitless. For one thing, it's very tough to find dryers with 500 or
greater kg/hr. (I found one that goes up to 1500.)

So, I've weeded out as many definite mismatches as possible (clearly,
the wrong specs, or the company definitely doesn't have a rental/lease
program).

The list I've compiled consists mainly of possibilities that 1) look
promising and seem to meet most of your needs; 2) possibilities I
wasn't able to rule out: specs aren't given, or there's no definitive
information concerning a rental or lease program. Quite a few
companies don't provide many details or specs at their Web sites,
preferring inquires about precise needs.

I'm afraid that's the best I can do for you. If you feel that will be
insufficient as an answer, I can step aside and let one of my
colleagues take a crack at this.

Nancy, all - it is critical that the dryers are at least 300-500 kg/h.
Smaller ones are very common (relatively speaking!) but are not what I
am looking for. I know finding them is not easy to do via traditional
google searches and that's why I'm happy to pay the max. google answer
allows. I will probably include a generous tip for an answer with at
least 5 good, viable dryers that meet the specs given out in the
question. Many tx!

I'm afraid I can't find matches to your precise specs. Again, the
best I can come up with is a list of suppliers who appear to be your
best matches, including a couple that have rental/lease programs.

Since I can't come up with just what you want, I'm going to step aside
in the hope that one of my fellow researchers can find a selection of
towers that meet your precise needs.

Sorry I wasn't able to come through for you, but here's hoping one of
my colleagues can!

Hi taquechi-ga:

Since no other researcher has picked up this question, let me try
this: I'll contact some of the manufacturers and suppliers I found to
see if they have towers that meet all your specs, as well as
short-term rental programs.

It could take a few days -- or longer -- for me to hear back and update you.

Can you tell me in which country or countries you need the towers?
That may make a difference as to whether or not they can do a
one-to-two day rental.

Thanks,

I finally had some luck.

Mr. Stewart G. Gibson, Dryer Group Manager of Anhydro - North America
kindly replied to my inquiry. He believes these two companies -- both
customers of Anhydro -- can provide spray drying towers with the specs
you require:

 General Spray Drying Service
 Elizabeth NJ
 Mr. Cliff Brucker

"General Spray has disc atomization."

And:

If I hear back from any other manufacturers or suppliers who can help
you, I will post that information as an Answer Clarification; though
so far, aside from Anhydro, I've only received replies in the
negative.

You can link to contact information for each spray drying tower
supplier. (Btw, I have already e-mailed Niro, which is listed here. I
will post an update if I hear back from them and they can help you.)
