"The Time Machine" assumes human evolution to be a fact. If you believe otherwise, you might find the book objectionable. Wells himself was actively anti-Christian. |

A book doesn't have to fit perfectly within one's frame of reference in order for lessons to be learned. It is okay for a book to bother, upset, or even disturb us--we can certainly learn about ourselves and the world around us from this. And the introduction of new ideas can expand our minds and/or strengthen our resolve and already-held beliefs. In my opinion, we deprive ourselves of learning and growth opportunities when we surround ourselves only with things that fit in a certain box, whatever that may be. Something to consider. Sincerely, Boquinha-ga |
