Could you find out for me a few of the best property managers in london that can take care of managing a flat including the following things: finding renters, taking care of collecting the rent and expelling or dealing with none payers (if possible guaranteeing this) as well as dealing with any repair issues necessary? What we really want is to be able to purchase the flat and then forget about anything to do with it, other than keeping in touch with the managers and collecting our share of the rent. I hope it's not too difficult. |

Hi goodinquirer, I am a London resident and although I have never personally had a property to let, I have used some of the following property management companies when searching for a property to rent. All of these companies are well-known, reputable and have a long history in London. They will take care of the entire letting process. Foxtons http://www.foxtons.co.uk/landlord/landlords_process.html Savills http://www.savills.co.uk/Residential/content.asp?subcategory=(Residential)%20Sales,%20Acquisitions%20and%20Lettings%20-%20Let Knight Frank http://www.knightfrank.com/Webui/uk/residential/other/rentProperty/ Douglas and Gordon http://www.douglasandgordon.com/dng/pns/cpage/4/38/2 Hamptons http://www.hamptons.co.uk/ ============================================== Search Strategy: I used my personal knowledge of the London housing market. I hope the above information answers your question. If you require any further clarification please do not hesitate to ask. Regards, lotd | |

If you really want to be able to forget about it, expect to have to pay a premium rate to the agent. I speak from experience - letting even a nice new property with no delinquent tenants was a lot of hassle. You may also find you need an agent reasonably local to where your flat is. Try searching for "letting agents" on yell.com |
