I was wondering if the government or any other organizations were
informing the general public about terrorism? What I mean by informing
us about terrorism is are they trying to explain the terrorist's
motives, their point of view, ways we can protect ourselves from
terrorism or fight against it? Whether it be through tv, some sort of
flyer, or any other type of trustable media.

View the link above. There was a great Prime Time Special on about a
month ago, where the whole focus of the show was addressing your
question. I believe it aired the day after Peter Jennings died. I am
still looking for that direct link.

While many of these links are useful, I am inclined to say that your
best sources will be those in the community who have had experience
and knowledge in fighting terroists first hand (i.e., ex-soldiers,
policemen, etc.) The government, while having a responsibility to
inform you also has a responsibility to protect you. Unfortunately,
the way the world works today is that any publically provided
information by any government to you the intended audience, is also
being consumed by the enemy too. That said, the government and
responsible media may only give broad, general tips, with more
specific details about terrorist movements, plans, etc. being hidden
from you. That is why the experiences of those in your local community
are much better sources to be prepared.
