I was stationed in Japan for four years, nad never noticed the prices
of anything over there to be cheaper. As a matter of fact most things
were more expensive. A quick check on the internet shows the D70
priced at 157,500 Y ($1,326.75) for just the body. I picked mine up
about a year ago for less than $1000 here in the US. Also, I can't
remember what their TV standard is over there (NTSC in the US), so,
depending on what camera you buy, some of the features may not work
when you get back home.
