Hello,
for the benefit of researchers, can you clarify what you mean by 'web
based' visitor access control systems.
Is that video over IP using webcams / smartcard, allowing / monitoring
control of doors from a remote location via a web control panel? and
is it a market where a security center monitors access for clients on
a subscription basis providing the neccessary connectivity, or an off
the shelf 'kit' which customers hook up to their existing internet
connections?
Thanks

Thank you for your question: The specific service relates to an ASP
model on a subscription basis that allows for the pre-registration of
vistors to a property by tenant/occupant, identification at access
points by security personnel and printng of admittance badges. So more
along the lines of "a market where a security center monitors access
for clients on
a subscription basis providing the neccessary connectivity." Since
this is extremely narrow, we would be fine with a more general idea of
market size that included the security sytems/devices you detailed
below as these would appeal to the same likely customers.
