My Merida electric bike needs some mechanical repair and a new
battery.  I am moat concerned with the mechanical trouble.  It slips
in and out of gear when I pedal.  I've taken the bike to the local
E-Bikes NW shop so many times that they now refuse to serve me (I pay
for repairs; don't ask), and other local bike shops have no idea how
to fix it.  I'm not mechanically inclined mmyself.  With the US
distributor of these bikes out of business, I have nowhere to turn. 
Any ideas?

i am going through the exact same problem, have had my merida a couple
of years, was great and now is slipping out of gear all the time, the
person i bought it from is out of business, am trying to connect with
the local electric vehicle place in town..i live in vancouver, bc. am
not having much luck. let me know if you find out anything else. and
i'll fill you in as well.
i loved my bike until this started happening. now it's become the bike
that drives me crazy. bikes should last for more than two years!!!

THANK YOU for telling me I'm not the only one with this problem!  I
thought I was bad luck for bikes or something.  I also have had the
bike for only two years.

One of the bike shops that I spoke to mentioned that if the chain
isn't cleaned once a week during daily use, it can damage the
sprocket.  Replacing the chain (which I've done several times) only
repeats the damage back onto the new chain.  I'm not completely
satisfied with that answer.
