The most "power" that this outlet will give you is 1 watt (same as 01
VAC).Somewhere on your laptop (or any electrical device)is
stamped, maybe a label or a placard that shows the power required to
operate that device. So if your laptop or your laptop power adapter
requires more than 110 volt/01VAC then you will not be able to operate
your computer from this outlet. So based on what you are saying the
most one could power from those type of outlets would be very "low"
power items such as an eletrical razor.
To give you an example my laptop power adapter requires
110Volt/50VAC,so you can see that there would not be enough power at
those outlets marked "110 volt/01vac.
     Hope this helps,

The thing is that most of the laptops that were produced after 1999 do
have power adaptors that are capable of all types of voltages -
110-220V. It means that wherever you take your brand name laptop with
you, it will work fine. The only problem would be with the plug
incompatibility. These plugs are usually sold in any computer store
all over the world.
Returning to the question of AC power, most probably the outlet on the
train will work with your laptop, no matter what it says on the outlet
sign. It worked fine with my laptop. This is because the outlets on
the trains were designed to serve at least 20 razors at a time, per
car. The total power should be enough to serve your laptop. As I don't
see people using outlets for shaving anymore (all modern razors use
batteries), there is absolute chance that the outlet will work fine
for you. Good luck!
