Dear slugmeister,

To open a post box in Austria, it is necessary that you appear in
person at an Austrian post office. As a private individual, you will
have to show a valid ID card. If you're opening the post box for a
company, you will also have to bring a cerified excerpt from the
Austrian commercial register - however, since you are obviously not a
representative of a company registered in Austria, only the terms
applying to private individuals are interesting for you.

Unfortunately, there is absolutely no option to open a post box in
Austria remotely.

Okay, I understand what you've said about getting an official post
box, but as an alternative are there Mailboxes Etc type services
available?

Unfortunately not. In Austria, services of this kind are still a
national monopoly of the Post AG, a former national agency that has
been privatized.
