In the mid-90s, a friend from Canada played me a scratchy tape with a great rap on it. It's stayed with me ever since... I'd love to find out the name of the track & artist. I've looked everyhwere - except here! Can anyone identify the song? "Throw your hands in the motherfucking air... Wave them round like you just don't care... Put your feet on the motherfucking floor, 'Cause it's coming through the door, And it's real hard core. All the people to the west come check it out, All the people to the east come check it out, All the people to the north come check it out, All the people to the south come check it out..." |

Note to researchers: "A Gangster's Story" by Schoolly D is NOT the track the customer has in mind. |

The most similar song I could find is "What's My Name" by Snoop Doggy Dogg. It doesn't have the "east, west, north" bit though. I even assume it's by someone trying to sample Snoop Dogg's rap... or Snoop Dogg probably took lyrics from that someone (seeing that "What's My Name" is a 2003 release). |

Hello all... Thanks for your help & comments. I've been messing about with the temp & speed of Schoolly D's "A Gangster's Story". it *is* the right track. Must've been from a dance mix. Oops! Wish I could find the original mix I heard all those years ago tho - it was total class :-) Cheers & out! |
