I sell the Brillian 6580iFB LCoS rear projection HDTV, and I can tell
you that its 4000:1 contrast ratio is among the best in the industry.
By comparision, the Panasonic TH 50PX50U plasma has a lower contrast
ratio of 3000:1. Not only that, but the 6580iFB is a "full spec" HDTV,
meaning that it can both accept and display signals up to 1080p in
resolution. The Panasonic's resolution is only 1366 x 768p (or
slightly better than 720p). Thus, the Brillian is more future proof. A
review of the Brillian 6580iFB will appear in the January issue of
Widescreen Review. It earned the highest rating among the sets
reviewed. The set just started shipping yesterday. Please do not
hesitate to contact me at information@seattle-comm.com if you would
like more information, or would like to place an order.
