Hello.
I have 2 Canon printers which have been working fine.
I have re-installed both disks today, and restarted the computer.
The laser printer is on LPT1.
The jet printer is on LPT2.

Now, the laser printer prints both for its documents and also tries
printing the jet printer's documents.

What's wrong?

It seems to me that you've simply reset the default printer
by doing the reinstalls. Windows normally sets whatever
printer is on LPT1 as the default (and only one can be the
default printer). I suspect you (or someone) simply had
certain programs (and thus, certain document types) set
to use another printer by default.

To accomplish this again, just open the types of documents
you want printed with the jet printer and, instead of using
the Print icon, go to File -> Print. This should open a
dialog box which will allow you to select the jet printer.
Once you've printed one document of that type with the jet
printer, I'm pretty sure that particular program will retain
the jet printer as the default printer the next time you try
to print something. To verify this, just close the program
and repeat the process above. I believe you'll see the jet
printer as the selected printer in the dialog box this time.

Repeat this with each program or document type you want to
reset, and you should be good to go.

Let me know if this works for you...

I have re-installed both drivers.
Laser is fine.
But when I ask the jet to print the following message appears below
the printer selection:
TYPE: Canon Laser printer
And the text is printed on the laser printer, not the jet printer.

The laser printer is on port DOT.
The jet printer is on LPT 1 Printer Port.

There can a device conflict problem.
first go to;
Control panel - system - device mananger
Then click printers and faxes
You will see two icon of the printers.
set one of them is default printer by clicking on one of icon by write
button of mouse and "set as default" and try to print again.

If it is not working remove two printers from there and go to control
panel again and click "Add Hardware" your computer will search for the
new hardware. when it found put your driver cd or diskette in to your
computer and install again.

Best Regards
