I am preparing a lecture that shows the connection between motivation
and success. I am in need of material, both anecdotal and
statistical/studies that show the link. I don't need a formal study,
just simple "motivational stuff" that is often used by the
motivational speakers...

-Meaning, stories where people who were motivated went on to
accomplish amazing results, and the oppistiite talented people who
because of lack of motivation accomplished little... Studies that show
these types of corelations.... in general materail that helps show
that motivation is one of the keys to success

I haven't read through it myself, but it seems likely to have a lot of
the type of material you're looking for. Perhaps a researcher here
can pull out the salient bits for you.

I went to that article, It is interesting but not quite what I am
looking for. My contention is that motivation is a force that can
propel a person to exceed their bounds. I am looking for andecdotes
that illustrate this point
