I have 1 administrator account and 1 simple account on XP.
I forgot the admin password.
now I can only enter with the simple account which cannot do much !
I need a way to regain admin rights.

www.michealmilton.com bulletin board:

"By default Windows XP Home creates a hidden Administrator
 account when it is installed. Boot to Safe Mode by tapping
 the F8 key during start-up. You should soon get to a Menu
 that gives you several start options. Choose Safe Mode.
 When the system boot[s] to the Safe Mode logon screen choose
 the 'Administrator'. Then go to Control Panel->User accounts
 and change his account type back to an administrator account."

O.K . 
the Safe mode way won't help me since I am asked for password for the
Administrator which I don't know.
I will try the boot disk style

Actually, this is pretty easy to fix.

You can use this bootdisk to reset any of the passwords on the system,
including the administrator password:

Every time you install your XP it will prompt for a pawword. Do you
remember the password you gave while instaling XP?

the boot disk worked just fine ..
I just needed to choose the default for all the questions.

Very often the Administrator password in XP Home is blank by default!
