Please provide the following information about Java Servlets, JSP,
PHP, ASP, CGi/Perl as well as any other server-side technologies you
feel are relevant:

1. What percentage of websites currently use this to handle a majority
of their dynamic content? This can be accurate to +-10%; I only need
a relatively rough estimate so I'll have a general idea of the current
demand for and use of this technology. They can be sites in any
language or only in English.

2. How is this technology most commonly used? Examples: e-commerce,
user driven content, database interface.

3. What are the pros and cons of using this technology? Examples:
efficiency, flexibility, limitations, database interaction, server
interaction.

4. What, if anything, can this technology do that others can't do or
that others can't do as well.

I want this information because I'm designing a CMS for general
website management and I'd like to use Java Servlets and mySQL;
however, I need to know if this will work technically and I need to
know if there would be a demand for this kind of thing done using
Servlets.

Thanks for your time.
