Loyalty to the Truth

Rossmo earned a PhD for his innovation in computerized geographic profiling.
Held in high esteem by then Vancouver Police Department (VPD) Chief
Canuel Rossmo headed up a geographic profiling unit and was consultant
to police services in many other jurisdictions.
Not everyone was as visionary as Chief Canuel who left in 1997.
Rossmo told senior officers in 1998 that a serial killer may be the
cause of the statistically significant elevated rate of female
disappearances on Skid Row.
They did not believe him.

In 2000 they let him go. Budgets.

In 2001 VPD teamed up with RCMP and within a year an alleged serial
killer was arrested and subsequently charged with 27 counts of first
degree murder spanning many years.

Since I couldn't find this on the web and the speech was recent, I
wrote to Dr. Rossmo about future prospects. Here is his reply:

"Not at this time, but I believe SFU may make a condensed version available
eventually.
Cheers.

Kim Rossmo"
