Plato's views on both topics can be found in 'The Republic' and in his final work, 'The Laws'. Aristotle's views are in 'The Politics'. His 'Nicomachean Ethics' also has some useful passages. Socrates did not leave any written work. He is mentioned in the works of Plato, Xenophon and Aristophanes but one cannot be sure that the views attributed to him in these works are accurate. This is not an answer but may help to get you started on your own research. |
