I'm looking to start a small reselling business in the United Kingdom.
 At first I'd just resell on eBay's UK site.  Then build a website if
things go well.  I already have some experience of building sites and
selling on eBay.

My problem - being a small fish - is finding products to buy wholesale
or direct from manufacturers at competitive prices.  From some brief
investigations it appears whatever product I choose is already being
sold by eBay powersellers for a price that would leave me with little
or no profit margin if I tried to compete. I?m not trying to make a
fortune overnight ? just a decent income without having a huge  stock
turnover.

The products I have investigated so far are things like:-
COMPUTER ACCESSORIES: Wireless Networking, MP3 players & other peripherals
PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT:  Digital Cameras, Flash & studio lighting equipment etc.

N.B. I am not limiting my scope to these products these are just some examples!

I have tried the usual Google searches for suppliers and only seem to
get ?middle men? posing as wholesalers or ?Get rich quick? schemes.

To summarise my question(s) I would like to:-

1. Find popular products (niche?) that have a fair margin and don?t
require a huge turnover to make any money.

2. Find contact details for reputable United Kingdom wholesalers or
manufacturers willing to sell to the smaller trader (I don?t mind
buying in bulk if that?s what?s required to compete)

I should add I?ve tried looking at programs such as Whiz Analysis to
look for eBay hot items etc. but lack the degree in astrophysics to
decipher the results.

ANSWERS SHOULD BE RELEVANT TO UNITED KINGDOM AND PLEASE NO GET RICH QUICK SCHEMES!

Check out http://www.worldwidebrands.com  They have the largest
selection for dropshippers and wholesalers that I know of and list
international shippers as well.  There is a cost associated with this
but its worth it and they do not list middle men.  Only legit
companies.  Hope that helps.  You also may try the Thomas registry.
