Hello Jerryd,
could you please clarify on two things:
a) how do you define a teenage market
b) what market are you looking into -- the US?
Thanks,

Teenage target market ages: 13-20 years old, both boys and girls
either incorporated together or separately. The age range can vary a
little.
second clarification: I am really interested in the US teen market
research primarily but would like the foreign if it is easily
available as well.
finally if you can separate online reseach from traditional research
would be would help as well. If it can't be separated that's fine.

Were you able to find any information on the questions I asked?
I would be willing to pay a little more for the basic information I need.

Hello again,
thank you for your clarification. I've been doing quite some research
on this topic but was eventually unable to find specific information
on what you are looking for. I also spoke with a marketing expert, who
came up with the following reasons for this: most market research is
obviously done in longitudinal studies with respect to specific
products, i.e. company A tries to find out what their market share is
in specific age groups for a certain product B, investing an amount of
money C. Now, there aren't that many reasons why they would publish
all this data at all. If they do, then certainly not broken down
according to age groups. And even if they did publish seperate
figures, to get the total sum you requested, you would have to add ALL
the numbers from single companies.
So inferring from this, the best estimate you could probably get would
be something published by the AMA: our members spent say $1.4 billion
on market research in 2001, 25% of the population of this country are
teens ... there you have a number. But of course this is not at all
sound data.
So these are the problems I see when dealing with this question; this
is also the reason why I didn't pursue this any further.
I'd be interested to hear what your view on the situation is.
