Depends on how one dies, wouldn't it? Some die of the shock/horror of
finding themselves in such a situation (e.g., heart attack); many
would probably die because of the pressure differences, depending on
the nature of the crash; others would die of burns - as the plane (or
what's left of it) is likely to set on fire.

The persons with the greatest pain are those who survive, but under
the circumstances they seem to prefer the alternative.
