I have approx 2500 thirty-five mm negatives and 300 medium format
negatives in a shoebox. I'm looking to get these scanned for archival
purposes. In the future, I might want to make prints (8x10 would be
sufficient ?= 3000 dpi), though the primary purpose is as a "backup".

It would be too time consuming to do this on my own. A quick search
showed a bunch of ads from various services, but a wide spread in
prices, additional services and volume discounts. Also very few do
medium format

I'm looking for assistance sorting out the various services out there
so I can get the best volume discount to get these scanned to DVD.
While it would be nice to just deal with one company, I'm willing to
work with different services for the 35mm and medium format slides, if
necessary. Digital ICE, and rotation are requirements.

It is hard to recommend a specific place since companies that are able
to offer needed services. What I have noticed to be affordable in
general, is that ask services of some school institute of the field to
make it in their workshop as a practice for their students.
