I want to find out what is the most healthy way to eat. For example, I want to know what ways I can eat in order to take the most advantage out of the food I'm eating. I read some where that protein and carbohydrates should be eaten seperately. And fruits should not be eaten with any other foods. I want to know if these things really are true or what really is the best way to eat. | |

infestma... The following are online sources which discuss food combining, also known as trophology, from resources other than the Diamonds. The Internet Health Library's page on food combining: http://www.internethealthlibrary.com/DietandLifestyle/Food_combining.htm Their food-combining chart, classifying types of foods: http://www.internethealthlibrary.com/DietandLifestyle/food-combining-detailed-chart-b.htm HPS (Helping People Survive) Online's page: http://www.hps-online.com/food/ A related page: http://www.hps-online.com/troph1.htm About.com's directory of resources, including pro and con: http://weightloss.about.com/cs/foodcombining/ HealingDaily's page on the topic: http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/food-combining.htm NetFit's page about Dr. William Howard Hay's guidelines (he is credited with originating food combining in 1911): http://www.netfit.co.uk/fatcom.htm A good page on trophology from Malcolm Smith's website: http://www.canopus22.demon.co.uk/food/diet/trophology.htm If you have some extended time for reading, this book by HERBERT M. SHELTON D.P., N.D., D.C., D.N.T., D.N.Sc., D.N.Ph., D.N. Litt, Ph.D., D. Orthp., titled 'The Hygienic System', offers a unique historical perspective on food, nutrition, and so on. The entire book is in the public domain, online: http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglibcat/020126shelton.orthotrophy/020126.toc.html Here's an article on food combining by the highly respected Daniel Reid, author of The Tao of Health, Sex and Longevity: http://detoxifynow.com/Food_diet.html "Born and educated in the United States, with a master's degree in Chinese language and civilization, Daniel P. Reid now lives in Taiwan, where he has studied with numerous Taoist masters. He is the author of Chinese Herbal Medicine, which was hailed by The New York Times as 'highly readable ...a marvelous introduction to the field of Chinese medicine.'" http://detoxifynow.com/tao_of_health.html That should whet your appetite!... ; ) Please do not rate this answer until you are satisfied that the answer cannot be improved upon by way of a dialog established through the "Request for Clarification" process. sublime1-ga Additional information may be found from an exploration of the links resulting from the Google searches outlined below. The notion that foods should be eaten in certain combinations is widely found in mass-market diet books. If you look at serious research from academic sources, you won't find this theory being presented. People who espouse wild, elaborate, pseudo-scientific theories about nutrition sell a lot of books. Serious, boring nutritional science doesn't sell as well. |

Wow, I was browsing this forum in google and came across this question. In my honest opinion based on experience, the best way to eat will be an adherence to Gen 1:29: "Every Herb bearing seed and every tree bearing fruit with seed in it shall be yours for food" So in a nutshell Fruits and Veggies! Points to keep in mind are 1. Their season 2. Proper combination 3. Organic vs. conventional sources 4. Occasional Fasts 5. BEING NON-OBSESSIVE...trust me, I've been there.... well I hope this helps the person who posted this question, all the best Remember, If one way is true it is the way of Nature!
