Get rid of all scrap food - and especially fruit. The flies will disappear soon after that. If you must keep fruit keep it in the fridge. "Vapona fly killer window sticker"s kill them but sprays I have tried don't. |

I use a water bottle with hole poked in the side. Fill this (below the level of the holes!) with a mix of vinegar and honey. The sweetness/fermentation will attract the fruit flies in but they can't get out (because the plastic of the holes is sharp on the inside!)...I just keep it on the counter near the fruit. I also rinse all fruit as soon as I get it home from the store...this cuts down on the number of dormant eggs/larvae that are on the fruit. |
