I am looking for a simple way to add Spouse last name and nickname in Outlook 2003. Under the contact >> details tab, there is a space for Spouse Name, but no provision for Spouse last name. Is there a hidden entry field somewhere, or do I need to customize my forms some how? Thank you. |

Dear wilbersdad-ga; Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. Bad news is rarely appreciated as much as good news but undoubtedly you are seeking ?facts? as opposed to good news. The truth is that other people also share your frustration with this particular name field in Outlook. It has been the subject of requested revisions but has yet to be attended to. At present the only option is to enter the spouse?s partial name (assuming the last name is the same) or the full name (including nickname if necessary. If more posts like this one get the engineers? attention maybe some future version will feature such an option. MS OUTLOOK SPOUSES http://www.whynot.net/view_idea?id=1813 OUTLOOK CUSTOMIZATION AND PROGRAMMING http://www.janjasper.com/Outlook_Programming.html Unfortunately there just are no other options available in the current Outlook versions. This is presumably why the ?spouse name? field allows for up to 250 characters. It isn?t good news, but by golly it?s honest news. I hope you find that my answer exceeds your expectations. If you have any questions about my research please post a clarification request prior to rating the answer. Otherwise I welcome your rating and your final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the near future. Thank you for bringing your question to us. Best regards; Tutuzdad-ga ? How many characters fit in the spouse name field? Maybe you can fit the full name there. |
