Company Name: Harshaw Research Inc President : Dale J Ream (lawyer) I am looking to see if this Invention Company is a scam. My husband has already paid them for his invention idea and they want a lot more money. Do you know of any complaints and where can I find the information regarding those complaints? Is this company legitimate? I found a posting on the company in 2004, but nothing recent. Do they do business under any other name or have any complaints noted against them? Have they made anyone any money? It looks like a scam to me, but not my husband. I paid with my credit card in case it was a scam. Help! |

They are registered with the Kansas Secretary of State and listed as being in good standing: http://www.accesskansas.org/srv-corporations/getRecord.do?number=2042877 And they are indeed acting as agents for inventors, as this list of recent patents registered through them shows: http://www.freshpatents.com/Harshaw-Research-Incorporated-cndirh.php So they are at least an existing, registered company. Scam big time. Trust me on this one that is a scam. This is the way 'most' (I'm sure there is one honest company out there) operate, they offer to patent your product and then take it to potential manufacturers for 10 to 14k. Any lawyer can do the legal work for 4-5k and you can take it to the manufacturers yourself for free. You can also patent the product yourself with very VERY little help, simply read 'Patent it yourself' and then go to www.nolo.com and buy patent pro an excellent program. The whole thing will cost you less than $ 400 this way. That is as big a scam as the companies that 'sell' you information about houses being foreclosed and up for sale.... that information is free, they get it out of the .org site and sell it to you... geez lol Scam! |

Hi
Dale Ream is a Registered US Patent Attorney, so he has a BIG BROTHER
{USPTO} looking over his shoulder.
What you should do is call the USPTO -- either the Office of
Enrollment and Discipline (they determine if a Patent Attorney has
broken any of the ethical rules -- they are very strict and DO enforce
the rules) or Inventors Resource (they will help you understand the
patent process and they investigate Patent Scammers) -- and ask tell
them how much money he wants and what he will do for that money. The
USPTO is VERY interested in removing Patent Scammers and if a
Registered Patent Attorney is breaking any of the rules, they will
take immediate action.
Luckily Ream is a Registered Patent Attorney, so the USPTO can take
action if necessary (revoke his license, make him pay fines). Also,
if he is doing evertyhing properly, the USPTO will tell you so you can
relax.
CALL THE USPTO TODAY!!!!!
Good Luck
