Question ID: 594650
I have recently bought a SONY DWQ28A DVD +/- RW drive... alas it came
with no driver disc.

As XP is "tempramental" it's decided that my new DVDRW drive is a CD Rom drive.

I have Nero6, and Power DVD installed.. yet I can't do anything with it.

I assume I need product specific drivers for it, however I am totally
unable to find any.

So my question is this....

Where can I download drivers for the SONY DWQ28A DVD +/- RW drive

or, failing that.

How can I make XP recognise the drive properly (Update was no help to me)

Id recommend getting a new drive. It looks like a lot of people are
having the same problem. (
http://www.computing.net/drivers/wwwboard/forum/4975.html ) Sony
claims that this is a "driver less" drive. You may want to try
upgrading to Service Pack2. I'd Highly recommend a liteon drive.
