How does this work...it's driving me crazy!

I don't like it...so i need an explanation...4 of us in the office have tried it
at least 50 times....it freaks me out...

it's all down the way multiples of numbers work...and it's all a function of 9.

you'll notice that all the results are multiples of 9, regardless of
what you choose

10 - 1+0 = 1 take this away from q0, and you get 9

11 = 9
14 = 9

24 = 2+4 = 6, take away from 24 you get 18, another multiple of 9

25 = 18
27 = 18

etc etc etc, you'll notice that on the chart all the multiples of 9
have the same symbol

All two digit numbers can be expressed as 10x+y. When you subtract the
sum of digits from it, you get

10x+7 - (x+y) = 9x.

So, all answers would be multiples of 9. The initial chart has the
same symbol for all multiples of 9.

Ok...(know..that i'm mathematically inept) i understand all stems back
to 9....but...how does it know which multiple of 9 you pick?

From what you say...my # could never be a 17 lets say...so...it only
really has to choose from : 9,18,27,36,45,54,63,72,81,90,99.....right?

That is pretty sneaky.... changing the symbols.

It is simple. all the results will give you one of the following numbers:
0,9,17,18,19,27,36,45,54,63,64,66,72,75,81,84.

If you notes every time you click "TRY Again" the relevant symbol for
all the above numbers will be the same.

Please note that I did not have the time to calculat all the results
numbers ...but I think you get the idea!!

these numbers will have the same relevant symbol!
