Hi!

I was curious if anyone knew of a database or website that contains
the information that fraternities and sororities keep secret. Things
like secret mottos, handshakes, symbols, etc.

Specifically, I would like to know information about Kappa Delta (I
already know what the motto AOT means). I would like to know the
secret handshake, and what the skull on the logo means.

Let me know if you need any clarification!
Thanks!

Well... how about limiting the question to simply: "what is the kappa
delta secret handshake, and what does the skull in the logo mean?"

Howdy ghost_rida-ga,

I will post this as a request for clarification lest it is unclear, etc.
especially as the handshake is a bit difficult to describe.

With the handshake, both parties fold their pinkies and the "ring finger"
(the finger next to the pinkie) on their right hand.

Both parties then shake hands normally, except they "link" or "hook" their
ring fingers and pinkies when they grasp hands. Think of the hold that
one makes when they are thumb wrestling, except the only two fingers that
are grasping each other are the pinkies and ring fingers on the right hand.

The skull symbolizes the same thing for Kappa Delta as it does for most
fraternities and sororities, that is, the secrecy that they are supposed
to uphold, over the penalty of death, etc.

If the above, sourced from a Kappa Delta sister, would do as an answer for
you, please tell me and I will post it as such. Thanks!

I am new to google answers, so I am not sure how to go about doing
this, but I wanted to let denco-ga know that this does indeed answer
my question. Thank you very much for your help... as long as this
comes from a reliable source, then it is answer enough for me!

If there were a website or any other source revealing those secrets,
they would not be secret anymore - and I bet that the things revealed
would be changed quickly, so that the information would not be correct
any longer. I think the search for a such source of information is
absolutely futile.

To be honest, I am shocked that anyone would ask a question regarding
a sorority/fraternity's ritual. The sisters and brothers of houses
take ritual very seriously and most would not willingly just offer up
their secrets. After all, how are they supposed to be secrets if
members are going around speaking of them. It defeats the purpose.
Honestly, no amount of money could ever persuade me to offer up ritual
secrets.

Actually, you are very wrong. No sorority would change their ritual
simply because people find out something about their ritual. There
will always be those people that are so obsessed with our sororities
that they will do virtually anything to find out about our rituals,
traditions, etc. These rituals mean a great deal to all girls who
truly love their sorority and its ritual. I know that we would not
change our entire meaning, everything that we stand for, just to
"throw off" pathetic people that have nothing better to do than to
break down and criticize what they do not know. My ritual will forever
live in my heart, and I know that regardless of what anyone finds out,
it will always remain unchanged, because that's what we are founded
upon, and we won't change our beliefs for anyone.
Kappa Delta Sister..
p.s. you got the handshake wrong buddy..

Over twenty years ago copies of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Book of Ritual
were made available to the public by an apparently disenchanted
ex-member. The secret material was deciphered, and a copy of "The
Cipher" was provided with the ritual copy. I can't comment on the
authenticity of the information, but it seemed plausible. For
instance, the chapter officers (president, first and second
vice-presidents, recording secretary, etc.) have Latin names. The
meaning of the pledge pin, password, Red Room and White Room Services,
and many other things were discussed. If someone is interested let me
know here.
