What is the name and artist of the "Hey" song that is played/sung at the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguin's home games? The song is played by the organist and is used to rouse the crowd. The only word in the song is "Hey" with an electric guitar whining w/ a heavy beat of the drum playing. You can hear the song at my home page http://homepage.mac.com/slabkoff/ in the PUBLIC FOLDER - entitled Pittsburgh Steelers Hey Song.mp3. |

Howdy slabkoff-ga, Played in sports arenas throughout the U.S. the song is "Rock & Roll - Part II" also known, quite appropriately, as "The Hey Song" and it was written by Gary Glitter (Paul Francis Gadd) and Mike Leander in 1972. It can be found on the album "Rock and Roll: Gary Glitter's Greatest Hits" and if you scroll to the bottom of this Amazon page, you can listen to a clip from the original. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000003488/ Here is a direct link to the Windows Media clip. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B000003488001001/ If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.
